I had planned this couple's wedding some 8 years ago and so I was delighted to hear from them again to organise Eelco's 50th.
The Party
They wanted it at a venue where all their guests (around 50) could stay, and they settled on The Manor.
Guests arrived on the Friday for the start of the celebrations and enjoyed an Afternoon Tea on arrival and an informal BBQ was held in the grounds with garden games and background music in the evening.
On the Saturday, the champagne reception was held late afternoon to make the most of the lovely weather and guests were served canapes while being entertained by a moving magician and a musical trio.
Dinner was served on the long tables in the main dining room, these were dressed with vibrant colours and flowers and fruit, giving the room a wonderful aromatic scent.
After dinner, guests moved into the Drawing room for digestifs served with the cake that Eelco cut after his speech. The music played on and guests partied until the early hours, lingering over the garden's firepits and enjoying the summer evening.
The next morning a Champagne Brunch was served to round off the weekend's celebration.
